Fort Worth, Texas (June 12, 2021) – Our Motorsports teammates Brett Moffitt and Tanner
Berryhill fought a hard fight in Saturday afternoon’s NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Texas
Motor Speedway. Moffitt lined up in the 19th position with Berryhill in 21st for the start of the
race after the lineup was set based on NASCAR’s mathematical formula. Moffitt battled hard in
the closing Stage to secure his fifth top-10 finish of the season while Berryhill’s day ended
prematurely in the Lone Star State, leaving him with a 39th-place result.
Shortly after the drop of the green flag, Moffitt raced his way to 15th in the No. 02 Chevy, and
Berryhill advanced to 20th in the Eclipse Claims No. 23. When the competition caution slowed
the field, the Our Motorsports fleet elected to stay out on track. When the green-and-white
checkered flag flew to conclude Stage 1, Moffitt was scored in 16th, with Berryhill close behind
in 19th. Under the Stage break, both cars visited pit road for fuel, tires and adjustments in
preparation for Stage 2.
In Stage 2, 28-year-old Moffitt continued to climb the charts, moving into the 13th position. A
caution in the midst of the second Stage allowed the Our Motorsports duo to pit for service.
Despite losing a few positions, Moffitt and Berryhill continued to run hard to the end of Stage 2,
finishing 16th and 32nd, respectively.
On lap 90, Berryhill’s Eclipse Claims Chevy was involved in a multi-car incident that took him
out of contention to finish the race, relegating him to a 39th-place finish. With the top-five in
sight as the race ensued, Moffitt continued his charge. Just short of a top-five, Moffitt brought
home his fifth top-10 finish of the year by placing eighth when the checkered flag flew.
The NASCAR Xfinity Series returns to action next weekend at Nashville Superspeedway. The
Tennessee Lottery 250 is set for Saturday, June 19 at 3:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN.
